FAQ's

  • Q: What if I exceed my bandwidth or webspace?

A: We have an upgrade option, which will allow you to double your webspace and bandwidth for a one-off cost of £130. The chances are that you won't exceed it, but if you do we're more than happy to help you rectify the situation.

  • Q: Are there any additional costs?
A: No. There are two options on payment. Either pay a one-off sum of £130 with a £19.99 set-up fee and then pay nothing else over the entire 5-year term. Or pay £13 a month for the first year with a £19.99 set-up fee and pay nothing else during years 2, 3, 4 and 5. There are no additional costs or hidden charges unless you choose to upgrade your hosting package.

  • Q: Why does no one else offer this service?
A: At Easy Internet Solutions we've never been afraid to break the mould and offer services which other companies baulk at. It should come as no surprise that once again we're leading the field, as we were in 2001 when we offered free hosting packages, once we had proved it could be done copycat companies began to offer the same service.

  • Q: What if your company goes bust or stops operating?
A: This is highly unlikely, our sister company 'Easy Internet Services' has been successfully trading since 2000. Our hosting division 'Easy Internet Solutions' has been trading since 2003. Between these two highly reputable and established companies we serve over 25,000 customers (as of May 2007). We never offer anything that we can't deliver and we definitely wouldn't make this offer if we thought there was any chance we wouldn't be around in five years time. We're planning to be here for a very long-time, so rest assured your hosting account is in safe hands with us.

  • Q: What if I'm not happy with my hosting package?
A: There is no reason why you wouldn't be happy with your hosting. Together with Easy Internet Services we already have over 25,000 satisfied customers, but if for any reason you aren't happy just contact us and we'll do everything we can to solve your problem.

  • Q: Why 5 year hosting?
A: We've found that people are so busy, that 1-year hosting deals are no longer the most practical way forward. By the time you've got your website hosted, it's not long before you have to pay out again. With 5 year hosting you pay a one-off fee and then that's it for 5 years. It keeps it simple for you and there's less paperwork for us, which means we can pass the savings onto you.

  • Q: What experience do you have?
A: We're already an existing hosting company, trading under Free Virtual Servers, which has been in existence since 2001. Because of our hard-work and success we're in a position to be able to offer low prices and great hosting packages. Between our highly skilled technical team we have well over 100 years of combined experience in hosting.

  • Q: Your price seems very cheap, why is that?
A: Because of our experience and large customer base we're in a position to offer these prices without compromising on quality. Something which a lot of other hosting companies cannot do.
  • Q: Can I host adult websites at 5 Year Host?
A: Unfortunately not, 5 Year Host is strictly for non-adult website hosting.

Jargon Buster

  • 500MB webspace.

This is the amount of storage space that you get on our server for your website and emails. It is equal to more than 300 floppy disks.

  • Unlimited sub-domains
A sub-domain is when you put something in front of your domain name. For example www.example.com can have a sub-domain like www.test.example.com or www.example.com/test.

It's called a sub-domain because the “www.example.com” is the main domain and you're adding to it. You may have seen that companies like the BBC use sub-domains to split up sections of their website into areas such as sport, weather and news i.e. http://news.bbc.co.uk or www.bbc.co.uk/news.

This makes it easier to navigate and with 5-Year Hosting you are able to have unlimited sub-domains, so you can engineer your site the way that you want it, with no limitations.

  • Unlimited Emails
Unlimited emails mean you can have as many email terms as you want in front of your domain name to use as an email address. For example, sales@example.com, info@example.com, yourname@example.com, support@example.com, enquiries@example.com

You can use this to make your business appear larger than it actually is. For example, many businesses will have many email addresses but only one person responding to them. So you can have numerous "departments" without any extra cost.

  • 15GB Bandwidth or Data Transfer
Your website has a limit on the amount of data transferred each month. This is 15GB. Your pages, images and email all contribute towards your monthly allowance.

There is a common misconception between bandwidth and data transfer. The bandwidth is the speed rather than the amount of data transferred. The 15GB limit refers to the amount of data transferred each month, not the speed of the data transferred.

Most websites should not exceed this, if you do then we can help you find a hosting package more suited towards you.

  • 2 Add-on Domains
An add-on domain is a completely different domain name to your main domain. It is included in your 5-year hosting package, but shows a completely different website. Your add-on domains will use the same webspace and data transfer that is included in your hosting package.

With 5-Year Hosting, you can have 2 Add-on Domains. So you could have www.example.com which is your main website, but you could also have a smaller website called www.mywebsite.com, so rather than having a different hosting package for each website, we provide you with one all inclusive hosting package.

Your add-on domains must either be registered through us or transferred to us within 30 days.
